Judicature Fees

Under the Supreme Court of Judicature Acts, 1873 and 1875, Admiralty Court, Chancery Court, Common Law Courts, Matrimonial Cause, and Probate Court were combined (Bankruptcy was explicitly excluded), and the fees of the new court were to be paid with Judicature Fees stamps.

The first Judicature Fees stamps, issued in 1875, were Key Types overprinted “JUDICATURE FEES”. These were replaced the following year with specific Judicature Fees stamps for denominations from 1d to £1, with £2 and £5 remaining as Key Types.
