Police Courts stamps were used to collect administrative fees, and to pay fines and penalties. There was no specific Act for these stamps (unlike Bankruptcy Court, etc), but The Public Offices Fees Act 1866 provided for the collection of such fees by means of stamps. A 6d embossed stamp was issued in 1875-6 in rose or vermilion underprinted “POLICE COURTS” in green. Key Types followed in 1876 including a unique 10/6 value.
